The environmental study of impact that precedes
to the construction of an oleoducto in Nicaragua will initiate their
field analysis phase, then that finalized the elaboration of the
terms of reference that were delivered to the Department of the
Environment and Natural Resources (Marena) last week, they informed
the promotores of the work.
The construction of the
oleoducto is valued in 600 million dollars, and will be in charge of
Oleoductos Premier of Nicaragua, business of capital American and
Canadian, associates with the Nicaraguan company System Intermodal
of Global Transportation Corporation (Sit Global). The intention of
the society is to utilize the right of route that will obtain Sit
Global for the construction of the canal interoceánico, and upon the
same route to install the oleoducto.
Both businesses intend
to share the costs in which they will incur in the environmental
study of impact, indicated Gerald Leroux, vice president of
construction of Oleoductos Premier of Nicaragua.
Leroux
explained that the actions for the environmental study of impact,
whose cost ascends to two million dollars, initiated in June passed
with the asesoramiento of the Marena.
The construction of
this oleoducto in the intial phase would generate to the immediate
thing 2,000 direct employments, in which they would be seen involved
consultoras, engineers and technical, among others.
The work
would cross Nicaragua from this to oeste, coming out of Maroon Port
in the Pacifico and culminating in Monkey Point in the Sea Caribe,
and consists of the installation of pipes that would be buried to
two meters of depth with a length of 475 kilometers.

Rick Wojcik,
president of Oleoductos Premier of Nicaragua, said that already they
have gathered in two occasions with the communities of Monkey Point
to take into account its opinion before the execution of the
project.
It indicated that of part of the Government have
received all the possible aid in the requerimientos necessary to be
able to work in the country, and, according to him, as opposedded to
other countries centroamericanos, Nicaragua has the advantage to
facilitate the long-term investment.
FIBER ÓPTICA
ADVANCES
Oleoductos Premier of Nicaragua intends,
besides the construction of an oleoducto, the installation of a
fiber óptica parallel to the tubing of the work, that according to
them will permit to improve the increment geométrico of the
telecomunicaciones in Nicaragua, indicated Shannon Parris, vice
president of Telecomunicaciones of the project.
“We are
working in the study of factibilidad for the installation of the
fiber”, indicated.
Parris explained that in the case of
Centroamérica the communications in their majority are you
determined by the communication satelital, the one that is affected
each time that problems arise climatológicos, and in this case the
communication through fiber óptica would come to resolve this
problematic one.
“The wide one of band of the fiber óptica
can be seven times over any communication satelital, and the fact
that Nicaragua acquire this technology of tip will be a key point in
the development of the business in the country. Besides, that this
it will be one more factor to attract the investment, therefore
Nicaragua will count on an excellent infrastructure in
telecomunicaciones” said Parris.  |
