Oleoductos Premier of Nicaragua, of capital
Canadian, is the business that intends to build an oleoducto in
Nicaragua, through which would be moving daily around middle million
of barrels of petroleum to transport them toward the Coast Oeste of
the United States.
The idea of the Canadians is that the
petroleum ships pump the petroleum through some buoys that would be
located to two miles of the Port of Monkey Point, in the Atlantic
South, then they would pass subterranean way to the Port of Maroon,
where, since another buoy, would be transported to other ships that
would transfer the raw one toward the Coast Oeste of the United
States.
Gerald Leroux, vice President of Oleoductos Premier
of Nicaragua, that prompt this project, indicated that the
investment oscillates among the 500 and 600 million dollars, that
includes, besides the construction of the oleoducto, the
installation of fibers ópticas, with which intend to negotiate with
the National Business of Telecomunicaciones (Enitel) so that this
can expand its telephone capacity of lines.
“What it
attracted us of Nicaragua is that is the most peaceful country of
Centroamérica, in the other countries of Centroamérica there is a
great deal of violence, a great deal of abduction, and we are tired
to fight with aspects that put in danger the investment”.
It
said that they chose Nicaragua “because we consider that is the
country of Centroamérica that full the better conditions for the
investment, besides, we feel us identified with the Nicaraguans,
because is a very friendly people and we feel us motivated to
support the development of the country and to attract a new hope as
for external direct investments”, it manifested Leroux.
Juan
Carlos Rivas, General Manager of the System Intermodal of Global
Transportation (SIT Global), explained that the route of
construction of the oleoducto will be the same one that will utilize
the Railroad Interoceánico that prompts SIT Global, that is to say
that will leave from Monkey Point, located in the Atlantic South of
the country, until arriving at Maroon, in the West of Nicaragua.
“What we share is a same route, but are two different
projects that go as a group because we are going to share the right
of way, a same environmental study of impact will be done, that does
that go as a group, but are different companies”, it noted Rivas.
The project is comprised of two phases, the first one of
construction, where United States contractors companies would come
and Canada, for which expects to generate 3,000 employments.
In the second phase, that is that of operation, some 1,000
direct employments would be being generated.

American and Canadian group to invest 600 million dollars to the
country, many other inversionistas will lose the fear to invest to
Nicaragua and will be able to show to international level that
Nicaragua full the conditions for the large investments, then, would
change the image of Nicaragua”.
-“Segundo, if thinks that
they will move middle million of barrels by this oleoducto, the
government and the country will be gaining, because will be
collected an imposed by each barrel that themselves crossing, then
there will be better incomes, will bring generation of employment”,
exposed Leroux.
-Juan Carlos Rivas, of SIT Global,
